BPD-MS measures were developed specifically for use in persons with spinal cord injury. While these measures may be relevant to other clinical populations, data supporting their clinical utility outside of spinal cord injury is not currently known. They should be completed without assistance from anyone else (like a caregiver, care provider, etc.). There are no data for using BPD-MS measures as a proxy assessment.
No modifications should be made to the text and responses of BPD-MS items. The text and responses of BPD-MS items cannot be altered in any way and still be considered a BPD-MS item. If users modify the items, they cannot refer to these modified items as BPD-MS. There are no data to determine whether or not a modified version would have the same psychometric properties as the original BPD-MS item.
